Plastic Surgery Training for Medical Students

The Hansjörg Wyss Department of Plastic Surgery offers medical students at NYU Grossman School of Medicine a wide variety of educational opportunities in plastic surgery, ensuring that tomorrow’s clinicians and researchers receive the highest-quality introductory training in this specialty.

Our subinternship and elective rotation enable students to gain exposure to all facets of plastic surgery, from craniofacial surgery and microsurgery to breast reconstruction and aesthetic surgery. You can also acquire valuable basic and clinical research experience through our summer research program. Our plastic surgery club for medical students allows you to learn more about the specialty in an informal setting and meet our faculty.
